Lawmaker-cum-Vice-President of the New Macau Association (NMA) Sulu Sou Ka Hou said yesterday that the government had “undeniable responsibility” for the damage caused to vehicles during August’s Super Typhoon Hato since it owns the city’s public car parks.

While public car parks were are owned by the government, their management has been outsourced to various private enterprises.

Sou made the remarks during a press conference with a group of vehicle owners affected by Hato, at the NMA office in Nam Van. The group said it was representing about 200 vehicle owners affected by the disaster.
