Academic results are no longer the only indicator of pupils’ skills, and in the 21st century pupils should have the ability of creative problem-solving and to solve problems as a team, Cheung Kwok Cheung, director of the Educational Testing and Assessment Research Centre of University of Macau (UM), said yesterday.

Cheung made the remarks at a press conference after a meeting on education at Macau Tower.

Last month, Cheung presented the findings of performance in the Programme of International Student Assessment (PISA) 2015 Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS), in which Macau ranked eighth among 51 participating countries and regions.
