The police have purchased an additional 300 body-worn cameras for their officers and they will come into use in the next quarter, the Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement yesterday.
The statement noted that 100 body cams first came into use for PSP officers carrying out duties on the peninsula in March last year on a trial basis.
The statement said that PSP officers have activated their body cams on 21 occasions since March last year, primarily for tackling disputes among people.
