The number of regulatory breaches by taxi drivers recorded last month decreased “noticeably” by 81.8 percent year-on-year from the same month last year, following the new taxi law which came into force on June 3, the Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement yesterday.

A total of 73 offences by cabbies were recorded last month, a decrease of 329 cases from September last year when the police recorded 402 offences, according to the statement.

According to the statement, the 73 offences recorded last month comprise 14 cases of overcharging, eight cases of cabbies refusing to pick up passengers, and 51 cases concerning other violations.
