The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement yesterday that groups who receive its subsidy should cancel or suspend their upcoming activities until further notice.
According to the statement, due to the recent COVID-19 Delta variant family cluster, MGTO urges groups using its subsidy to cancel or suspend events such as trips to places outside Macau, gatherings, performances, training programmes, talks, lectures, or any activities that could lead to people gathering together.
The statement said that MGTO has already notified the affected organisations, adding that the groups can be reimbursed for any expenses that they have already paid out for their events. The statement also underlined that classes or training programmes that are hosted by MGTO will be taking place online.
For enquiries, residents can contact the office through 2831 5566 or email mgto@macaotourism.gov.mo.
Administrative Building now disinfected
Meanwhile, a Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) statement said yesterday that it coordinated with an outsourced cleaning company to deep clean and disinfect the Public Administrative Building in Rua do Campo, which is closed due to a recent visit of a COVID-19 Delta variant carrier.
The statement said that the cleaners were dressed in personal protective equipment (PPEs) and cleaned public service areas, such as the lobby, service desks, lifts, escalators and related offices. The statement noted that the disinfection work was completed by noon yesterday, adding that the cleaners also cleaned streets and bus stops. The statement stressed that the bureau is trying to lower the risk of COVID-19 spreading.
Meanwhile, the Legal Affairs Bureau (DSAJ) said in a statement yesterday that due to the temporary closure of the Public Administrative Building in Rua do Campo, its services have provisionally been relocated to different buildings – the Macau Government Services Centre in Areia Preta, Macau Government Services Centre in Taipa and the CNAC Building in Nape.
The statement pointed that on Tuesday night it had notified affected residents about the closure and relocation. The statement stressed that buildings that provide DSAJ services have been complying with the Health Bureau (SSM) guidelines since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, adding that those entering the respective premises have their temperature checked, must be wearing a facemask and display a valid Macau Health Code. The statement also said that all its service desks have plexiglass dividers which get disinfected every hour to lower the risk of spreading the novel coronavirus.
