Public Security Police (PSP) suspect that a female driver, who hit a 70-year-old woman in Rua de Pequim in front of the PSP headquarters, did not stop at a zebra crossing.
The police also said that the driver passed a breathalyser test, and the reason for the accident was still under investigation.
The Fire Services Bureau (CB) also said in a statement that the accident occurred at around 10 a.m. yesterday, adding that when the woman was taken to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre she had a nose bleed but did not seem to have any other apparent injuries. The statement pointed out she was not fully conscious.
