Aiming to further promote and optimise the city’s e-government and implement the facilitation process of trademark registration, the Economic and Technology Development Bureau (DSEDT) will launch a so-called Electronic Trademark Registration Certificate via the “Macao One Account” on Monday, according to a DSEDT statement yesterday.

The statement noted that once the applicants or their official representatives log into the bureau’s website www.dsedt.gov.mo via their Macao One Account to submit the application for registration of their trademark, they can choose to receive the e-registration certificate via their Macao One Account.

After the trademark registration is approved, the applicant or representative can view and download the electronic trademark registration certificate through the “My Licence” function of the “Macao One Account”, the statement said, adding that “Macao One Account” users can scan the Macao One Account’s QR code on the registration certificate to verify its legal status, while trademark right holders and interested parties can scan the DSEDT QR code to check the registration certificate’s information.

The statement underlined that the electronic registration certificate has the same legal effect as the paper one.
