Melco Resorts and Entertainment said in a statement on Wednesday that its Cantonese restaurant Pearl Dragon won “Best Chinese Cuisine in Asia - Excellence Award winner” at the 2022 Haute Grandeur Global Restaurant Awards.
The restaurant in Studio City offers a menu that showcases “provincial Chinese flavours, innovative culinary creations and the finest delicacies”, the statement underlined.
The awards recognise “remarkable achievements in delivering consistent, exceptional experiences in the global luxury hospitality industry”. The statement noted that the winners comprise dining outlets from 60 countries rated by their customers and dining experts.
The awards’ founder and president, Martinique de Wet, was quoted in the statement as saying that a restaurant must excel on all levels to win the award. She added that the “2022 Awards season demonstrated how restaurants around the world remained persistent to achieve greater heights despite challenges that exist in the industry, with winning establishments perceived as the benchmark in the industry.”
The statement also quoted Melco’s Chief Operating Officer of Macau Resorts David Sisk as saying: “This accolade is a welcome addition to the global recognition attained by our F&B teams – evidencing Melco’s steadfast commitment to Macau’s ongoing and diversified development”, thanking organisers for the honour and congratulating the Pearl Dragon colleagues on their achievement.
