The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) announced in a statement yesterday that in response to the changes in the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wui Ieng Temporary Accommodation Centre (匯應臨時收容中心) is now available to provide temporary accommodation to those in need of shelter.
According to the statement, the centre is located at E1 Bairro da Ilha Verde Building on Rua Leste da Ilha Verde. The statement added that the centre is open daily from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.
In order to reserve resources for those most in need, the bureau urged members of the public to seek assistance from their relatives and friends if possible as the number of vacancies available in the centre is limited.
At the same time, the bureau also urged employers to provide assistance to non-resident workers (NRWs) who need temporary accommodation in Macau.
The statement underlined that the centre has implemented COVID-19 prevention and control measures in accordance with the Health Bureau (SSM) such as reminding people entering the centre to scan its venue QR code while requiring service users to undergo a temperature check, wear their facemask, and keep at least one metre away from others.
The statement stressed that the service users must abide by the centre’s COVID-19 prevention measures while maintaining on-site social distancing.
Enquiries can be made on 2827 0939 during office hours and 6399 1963 during non-office hours.
