The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said in a statement yesterday that about 800 metres of the road have been temporarily closed in response to the restoration of damaged fences along the Hac Sá Long Chao Kok Coastal Trail in Coloane.
According to the statement, as the damaged parts were close to the coast, the bureau had earlier closed part of the road for public safety. The statement added that the restoration work was expected to be completed next month.
Meanwhile, the bureau said in a separate statement yesterday that in order to promote the protection of nature and better provide popular science information on forest restoration that could enable the public to engage in hiking activities and improve their education at the same time, the bureau will optimise the information board on the Taipa Grande Trail from today.
The statement pointed out that during the construction period, estimated to last about 45 days, the walking trail will remain open as usual, with only some locations partially closed.
The bureau urged members of the public not to enter the closed areas for their safety.
Enquiries can be made by calling the bureau’s hotline on 2833 7676.
