A local woman has been arrested for drunk driving and dangerous driving after colliding with two cars and injuring a driver, Public Security Spokesman (PSP) Cheuk Kou Chi said at a press conference yesterday.
The 40-year-old suspect surnamed Cheong told the police she’s jobless.
According to Cheuk, when Cheong was driving along Estrada Governador Nobre de Carvalho in Taipa on Friday night, she suddenly crossed into the lane for vehicles coming from the opposite direction and crashed into two oncoming cars. One of the drivers sustained injuries on his right arm and left knee, Cheuk noted
Cheong was found to have an alcohol concentration of 1.68 grammes per litre of blood, while the two other drivers passed the breathalyser tests.
Under questioning, Cheong admitted drinking alcohol earlier that day. She told the police that she lost concentration and crossed into the wrong lane because she was drunk, and was “thinking about something” at that moment.
Cheuk underlined that Cheong, who faces drunk driving and dangerous driving charges, has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP).
