A man has been arrested for finding and keeping a card holder containing a MacauPass in the street, Public Security Police (PSP) spokeswoman Lai In Hong said at a press conference yesterday.
The suspect surnamed Leong is in his twenties.
According to Lai, a resident reported to the police on October 18 last year that he had lost a black card holder containing his MacauPass two days before in Rua de Francisco Xavier Pereira. The victim reported an estimated loss of 2,300 patacas.
After scrutinising their CCTV city-wide camera system, police identified a motorcyclist, Leong, who had picked up the card holder later that day.
Leong was called to a police station for questioning on Friday, where he admitted picking it up out of greed.
Leong has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a theft-by-finding charge, according to Lai.
