The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement yesterday that it is calling for stall operators and creative handicraft workshops for the Tap Siac Craft Market in the spring, which is slated to be held from April 20-23 and April 27-30 in Praça do Tap Seac.

“Tap Siac” is the bureau’s alternate spelling for “Tap Seac”.

The craft market, the statement noted, will be held four days a week from Thursday through Sunday in the square for two consecutive weeks. It will have over 220 handicraft and food stalls.

According to the statement, the call for stall operators is open from 10 a.m. today to 11:59 p.m. on February 21. Stall applicants can apply online via www5.icm.gov.mo/craftmarketV2.

Applications for stalls selling products must offer original designs, the statement added, while the minimum number of types of products for sale is 10. Proposals may also include services that offer “cultural and artistic experiences”. A lucky draw will be held if applicants exceed the number of available places, the statement said.

Meanwhile, applications for conducting handicraft workshops are open from 10 a.m. today to 11:59 p.m. on February 14. The statement said that application forms can be submitted by emailing apply.DPICC@icm.gov.mo or taken to the Cultural Affairs Bureau in Praça do Tap Seac during office hours.

The statement noted that the workshop proposals will be assessed and chosen based on criteria such as feasibility, aesthetics, and proposal attractiveness, as well as budget and workshop instructors’ experience. Application rules and the electronic application form can be downloaded from www.craftmarket.gov.mo.

For enquiries, one can contact IC representatives Ms Zhou or Ms Lio by calling 8399 6289 or 8399 6292 during office hours.
