Male body found floating off Cotai

A male body was found floating off Avenida Marginal Flor de Lótus in Cotai yesterday morning, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chan Wun Man said in a statement yesterday.

According to the statement, the deceased has been identified as an Asian male, approximately 60 years old, 1.70-metre tall, wearing a black top and dark trousers, and barefoot.

According to the statement, the Customs Service (SA) was notified by the Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA) at 7:20 a.m. yesterday that DSAMA officers found a floating corpse while patrolling the sea under the Lotus Flower Bridge.

The body was then towed to the pier of Pousada Marina Infante Hotel, the statement said.

According to the statement, the initial examination of the body revealed abrasions and fractures to the left upper arm and superficial abrasions to the left lower jaw. Other than that, no suspicious or criminally induced injuries were found.

No identification documents or suicide note belonging to the deceased were found.

According to the statement, the Judiciary Police have classified the case as dead body found. The statement added that the exact cause of death still needed to be confirmed by a forensic examination.
