The Judiciary Police (PJ) were notified by the Fire Services Bureau (CB) at 2:45 a.m. yesterday morning that a 39-year-old man, who had been rushed to hospital for emergency treatment, was pronounced dead after “falling” from his flat, PJ spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said in a statement.
According to the statement, the local victim surnamed Wong lived in a flat on Istmo de Ferreira do Amaral.
The statement said that after entering the victim’s flat for investigation, PJ officers suspected that he had “fallen” onto the road from the rooftop of the building earlier yesterday morning, after which he was rushed to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre where he was pronounced dead after emergency treatment to save his life had failed.
According to yesterday’s PJ statement, an initial examination showed that the man had no injuries that could have been caused by foul play, and neither had he any suspicious injuries.
The exact cause of death would be confirmed after a forensic examination, the statement said, adding that the case has been listed as dead-body found.
No suicide note was found at the scene, the statement said.
