Georgia Creeden is showcasing her framed photographic works from her “Beauty & the Beach” series at the Hold On to Hope gallery in Ka Ho village.
According to a statement from the gallery, Creeden loves to walk and hardly leaves home without her camera. She likes taking photos from a different perspective as “things are not always as they appear to be”. The photos featured in the exhibition were taken around Hac Sa Beach and Coloane.
Creeden, the statement said, arrived in Hong Kong from the US in 1989 and travelled extensively throughout China and Southeast Asia for over 30 years, mostly producing sportswear for the European market.
In 1997, the statement added that she left New England permanently and went on to establish “Cia Consultadoria Roupa Dunfey Lda” in Macau. She lived in Macau for over 25 years and was an International Ladies Club of Macau (ILCM) committee member.
Creeden was also involved in social activities and fundraising events for local charities such as Associação de Reabilitação dos Toxicodependentes de Macau (ARTM – Macau Association of the Rehabilitation of Drug Addicts), and organised charity bazaars, social coffee mornings and wine dinners, and also produced graphic and marketing materials, the statement underlined. She moved to Melbourne in 2021.
The exhibition runs through April 23. The gallery is open on Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on weekends and public holidays from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It is closed on Wednesday and Thursdays.
