The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said in a statement on Friday that a Taiwan-made beverage, APPLE SIDRA, may contain sediment, urging the public to stop drinking the product and warning all suppliers and retailers to cease selling it.

The product’s manufacturer, Beverage Limited Company of the Atlantic Ocean, has been removing all batches of canned and bottled drinks in 330 ml, 600 ml, 1,250 ml and 2,000 ml sizes from retailers’ shelves as a precaution, according to the statement.

The statement noted that the bureau is paying “close” attention to the matter, and has taken immediate follow-up measures, issuing a warning to the sector and dispatching IAM officials to check the product’s availability in the local market.

According to the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration’s (TFDA) announcement, the statement said, fearing that the beverage’s production lines might contain contaminated food, all of them have been ordered to shut down for “rectification”.
