It started out as a holiday in Tibet in 2013 but little did Candy Ieong Weng San know that it would lead her to Nepal which would be a place she now calls home and where she has her own tattoo business.
“I’d been to Tibet before and loved it. I’ve always wanted to go back where I could just stay there for a bit,” Ieong told MPD Weekender last week in a studio while she was in town for a tattoo appointment.
As the Tibet trip would be a few months long, Ieong decided to quit her comfortable 9-to-5-job in the hospitality industry to set off on a journey that she had no idea where it would take her, but was sure she needed to get out of the city.
