Over 140 business matching sessions took place during the “Macao Week in Tianjin – Tianjin-Macao Business Matching and Networking Session” on Friday, with some Macau food manufacturers inking deals on mooncakes, according to a statement from the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).
The event was attended by over 160 companies from Macau and Tianjin, the statement noted, adding that business matching sessions were facilitated between over 40 Macau enterprises and more than 90 Tianjin enterprises. The sessions covered areas such as Big Health, catering and MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions).
In his speech at the event, the statement said, IPIM President Vincent U U Sang gave his views on further facilitation of multi-party exchanges between Tianjin, Macau and Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSCs), as well as the 10 ASEAN member states by combining Macau’s function as a China-PSCs platform with Tianjin’s natural advantages as a port city.
The statement said that enterprises from Macau showcased Made-in-Macau products, Macau brands and products from PSCs through product and service promotion sessions, and food tasting sessions, among others.
A delegate from Tianjin noted that the products from Macau and PSCs are quite appealing in terms of quality and workmanship, while delegates from a Macau company said that the event was effective and efficient, according to the statement.
