The one and only local driver in the F3 race is 20-year-old Andy Chang Wing Chung, who told MPD Weekender yesterday after the qualifying race that the several red flags during the race had some effect on his performance, and so he finished 18th.
However, he said that yesterday’s race was only a warm-up and that his speed would build up in the races today and tomorrow when he would have mastered when is the best time and where is the best place to brake so that he wouldn’t lose time to put the pedal to the metal when he could.
“The Guia Hill part is the most challenging, there are lots of narrow bends,” said Chang, who has been racing in the European Championship while he’s still studying in the UK.
