The Macau Association for Stray Dogs and Animal Welfare (MASDAW) will host its annual charity fundraising lucky draw, which will feature over 100 prizes, on December 3 at its shelter on Estrada de Dona Maria II, according to a statement from the non-profit organisation.
The prizes are provided by MASDAW’s sponsors, many of which have been supporting them since 2014, while others are joining the lucky draw for the first time, the statement noted.
The statement said that the annual lucky draw is the organisation’s main source of income that helps it tackle its “huge [monthly] expenses” to ensure a happy and healthy environment for the shelter’s 121 dogs.
MASDAW, the statement added, is again struggling with financial issues as the income from donations is much lower than its expenses, so it is running out of money to pay the rent and buy food and medicine, among others outlays.
Members of the public can help by buying raffle tickets, selling their raffle tickets and promoting MASDAW’s lucky draw, the statement said.
