After being held up for four weeks, the inaugural flight from Macau to Jakarta took off on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the official website of Air Macau, three return flights a week to the Indonesian capital are scheduled – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The outbound flights depart from Macau at 12:25 p.m. and arrive at 4:20 p.m. local time, while the departure time from Jakarta is 5:20 p.m. local time and the arrival time in Macau is 11:10 p.m.
The flight time of the Macau-Jakarta route is about five hours, making it currently the longest international route of the local flag carrier, surpassing the Macau-Tokyo route that is approximately 4.5-hours long.
The new direct flight route connecting Macau and Jakarta was initially scheduled to start on October 29, with four flights per week, but was postponed due to the “limited overnight support capacity” of Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
