The Judiciary Police (PJ) issued two separate statements on Sunday and yesterday respectively regarding suicide cases involving non-local men who hanged themselves.
The statements did not disclose the nationality of either victim.
According to the statement released on Sunday, the wife of the deceased was unable to reach him earlier that day and contacted the hotel staff in Zape to check on him. When no response was received after knocking on the door, the staff entered the room and discovered the victim hanging.
According to yesterday’s statement, a resident discovered the victim hanging from a tree on Avenida da Amizade. The case was reported to the police by an on-duty security guard.
The statements noted that no suspicious or potentially criminal-related injuries were found on the bodies of the deceased individuals. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted to further determine the cause of death, according to the statements.
