A Hong Kong woman committed suicide by hanging herself in her sister’s flat in Ilha Verde on Tuesday, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a local woman committed suicide by burning charcoal in a flat yesterday, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement yesterday.
Both cases have preliminarily been listed as a dead body found.
About the first case, the Judiciary Police were notified by a nurse at the public Conde São Januário Hospital centre at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday that a woman was pronounced dead after she hanged herself in her sister’s flat in Ilha Verde. Her sister discovered that the deceased had hanged herself earlier that day and called the authorities.
The victim is a senior citizen from Hong Kong.
Concerning the second case, according to yesterday’s statement, the victim lived alone in Patane. Her father went to visit her at 11:10 a.m. yesterday, and when he opened her bedroom door, he found that the victim had committed suicide by burning charcoal in the room. The statement noted that paramedics from the Fire Services Bureau (CB) at the scene confirmed that the victim was dead.
No suicide note was found at the scene.
The victim was a middle-aged local woman.
