A local man has been arrested for damaging six parked cars with his car key, Public Security Police (PSP) spokeswoman Lai In Hon said in a regular press conference yesterday.
The suspect surnamed Lei is in his fifties. He told the police that he’s a businessman. The six cars were parked Rua de Pedro Nolasco da Silva.
According to Lai, one of the car owners reported to the police last Thursday that someone had scratched her vehicle parked the day before with a key, causing damage estimated at 30,000 patacas.
Thanks to CCTV footage, PSP officers tracked down the suspect and told him to report to a police station.
Under questioning, Lei told the police that as he was in a bad mood at that time, he used his car key to scratch and damage the cars parked nearby.
Lei has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a charge of causing property damage.
