The State Council recalled Yan Zhichan on Friday from the post of a deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR).
The State Council has still to announce who will succeed Yan, who had been a deputy director of the liaison office in Macau since March 2020.
The Liaison Office in the MSAR has four deputy directors in its organisational structure.
After Yan left her post, the Liaison Office in the MSAR now only has two serving deputy directors, i.e., two of the four deputy director positions are still left vacant.
The two currently serving deputy directors of the Liaison Office are Huang Liuquan and Lyu Yuyin.
Huang has been a deputy director of the liaison office in Macau since late 2022, while Lyu has been a deputy director since June last year.
The Liaison Office in the MSAR has been headed by Zheng Xincong since May 2022. Zheng is the highest-ranking official of the Central People’s Government posted to the MSAR.
