The average earnings (excluding irregular remuneration) of full-time employees in the gaming sector amounted to 26,750 patacas in June, up by 8.2 percent year-on-year, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced yesterday.
Casino dealers’ average earnings rose year-on-year by 6.5 percent to 21,660 patacas.
At the end of the second quarter, the gaming sector’s total number of full-time staff stood at 52,518, an increase of 825 year-on-year, but the number of dealers fell by 208 to 23,467.
At the end of June, the sector had 498 job vacancies, up by 385 year-on-year. The bureau attributed the year-on-year surge of 340.7 percent to the city’s further recovery of its tourism-related sectors driven by the constantly rising number of visitor arrivals.
The sector’s job vacancy rate stood at 0.9 percent at the end of the second quarter.
In the second quarter, the number of new recruits and staff members leaving their employment totalled 1,492 and 1,143 respectively. The employee recruitment rate (2.9 percent) rose by 1.0 percentage point while the employee turnover rate (2.2 percent) dropped by 0.2 percentage points.
