A security consultant and a casino operations manager have been arrested separately for drunk-driving, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Cheong Heon Fan said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Cheong identified the suspect in the first case, the security consultant, as a male surnamed Leong in his thirties.
According to Cheong, on Sunday night a resident reported to the police that a man had passed out on the pavement on Avenida de Kwong Tung. Police officers and firefighters who arrived at the scene woke him up and discovered that he was reeking of alcohol.
A breathalyser test showed that Leong’s alcohol concentration was 2.7 grams of alcohol per litre of blood. Lei admitted to drinking in his friend’s home earlier that night and riding his motorcycle to the scene where he was found asleep.
Cheong identified the suspect in the second case, a casino operations manager, as a male surnamed Chan in his thirties.
According to Cheong, the police received a report about a car accident in Estrada Governador Nobre de Carvalho on Friday night. Police officers who arrived at the scene discovered that Chan’s car had crashed into a metal pole and then collided with another car.
A breathalyser test showed that Chan’s alcohol concentration was 2.09 grams of alcohol per litre of blood.
The two suspects have been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing drunk-driving charges, according to Cheong.
