Japanese artist Yuki Yamamoto is showcasing over 20 works in an exhibition entitled “Interwoven Vision”, which is his debut Macau exhibition presented at Lisboeta Macau H853 Fun Factory’s Humarish Club in Cotai until January 5.
Yamamoto, who was born in Obihiro in 1981 and is currently based in Sapporo, has had various solo exhibitions in Japan and Hamburg, northern Germany, as well as having taken part in group exhibitions presented throughout Japan and once in Shanghai, according to a statement from the gallery. He has collections in Japan, Shenzhen and Cologne, western Germany.
The free admission exhibition features acrylics on canvas that were created in recent years, the statement said. Each piece showcases the main elements of his art, which are transparent layers and circular symbols, noting those viewing his works can see the overlap and reflection of colours created through multiple layers of transparent pigments on canvas, which visitors to the recently launched exhibition can view.
Moreover, the statement noted that exploring space and time has always been the core of what Yamamoto aims for, adding: “His endless visual experiments are aimed at breaking the familiar spatial perception, showing the infinite expression of space, and interpreting the meaning of space”.
Exhibitiongoers are invited to “discard their preconceived notions and step into a universe’s perception of space”, the statement said.
One can view the works daily from 12 noon to 8 p.m. throughout the exhibition period.
