Over 20 children’s artworks are currently on display at the D1 Hall of Albergue SCM in the São Lázaro (望德堂區) district until Monday.

The free-admission “Joyful Colours” Children’s Drawing Contest Exhibition showcases works from the recently held contest of the same name, organised by CAC – Círculo dos Amigos da Cultura de Macau (“Circle of the Friends of Macau’s Culture”) and sponsored by the Macau Foundation (FM).

The contest, according to a poster at the exhibition venue, collected submissions from children aged five to 12 and the winner has received a 1,000 pataca prize voucher and trophy. The first and second runner-up, meanwhile, received prize vouchers of 800 patacas and 500 patacas respectively, along with trophies, while merit awards were also given out.

Children making submissions followed the theme “My happiness”, with the poster noting that children were “encouraged to express their happiest moments, things, or experiences through drawing”, resulting in the vibrant exhibits.

Those interested may visit the exhibition from 12 noon to 8 p.m. until tomorrow, and from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday.

Albergue is Portuguese for “hospice”. SCM stands for Santa Casa da Misericórdia (“Holy House of Mercy”), Macau’s oldest charitable organisation.
