The Public Security Police (PSP) on Wednesday arrested a drunken driver, whose alcohol concentration was 1.61 grams of alcohol per litre of blood, according to a regular press conference yesterday.
PSP spokesman Wong Chi Weng identified the suspect as a local man surnamed Ho in his thirties.
In the early hours of Wednesday, Ho in his car was stopped at a police roadblock in Rua da Ribeira do Patane (沙梨頭海邊) and found to be reeking of alcohol, according to Wong. Ho was given a breathalyser test which showed that his alcohol concentration was 1.61 grams of alcohol per litre of blood, confirming his drunk-driving offence, Lam said.
Under questioning, Ho admitted to having drunk alcoholic beverages in Rua do Visconde Paco de Arcos (巴素打爾古街) in the Inner Harbour area.
Ho, who told the police that he’s unemployed, has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a drunk-driving charge.
