The 2025 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2025MIECF) is slated to take place from tomorrow through Saturday at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo, with details for the three-day event announced during yesterday’s press conference at the venue.
Spanning over 12,000 square metres and featuring five exhibition areas, the Macau government-hosted event, this year themed “Innovation and Green Development – Solutions to Build Beautiful Cities”, aims to promote green and sustainable development while encouraging carbon reduction efforts across society for “the joint construction of beautiful cities”, according to yesterday’s press conference.
Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute President Vincent U U Sang pointed out during his speech that the event has this year drawn exhibitors and attendees from 40 countries and regions. Moreover, there are over 60 international exhibitors, including 26 from Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs), joining the event, while foreign professional buyers have grown by around 23 percent compared to last year, according to U.
U noted that 2025MIECF will put a special emphasis on “debut economy”-related elements and see the “Debut Economy Projects Zone” set up for the first time, while the “Debut@Macau - Project Launch x Innovation Matching Session” will be held tomorrow. Meanwhile, more than 20 new products and projects will be showcased, covering innovations such as new biodegradable materials, liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging technology, Robot Dog B2, and electric, self-parking motorcycles, U said.
This year’s MIECF will also feature 12 concurrent events held in collaboration with international sustainable development organisations, associations and enterprises in the environmental and related industries in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), U said, while the Guangdong -Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin will also launch four multi-venue events in Macau and Hengqin.
Elaborating on the event further, Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) Director Ip Kuong Lam noted in his speech that the event will also see three green forum sessions that focus on green transition and development, technological innovation and environmental exchange and cooperation in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region.
Meanwhile, Green Public Day will be held on Saturday, 2025MIECF’s last day, with members of the public able to enter and join activities, among which are those related to environmental protection, booth games and workshops, for free.
A media tour was also held after yesterday’s press conference, during which some exhibitors and products for the upcoming event were introduced, among which were demonstrations of Robot Dog B2, which according to its company website the fastest running industrial-grade quadruped that can carry a sustained load of 40 kg, and an electric self-parking motorcycle.
