Yesterday marked the last day of the 14th Macau Literary Festival (aka The Script Road – Macau Literary Festival), which presented a wide range of activities in its programme and ended with a book launch and a talk.

Among the activities in the 10-day festival were photography exhibitions, talks and book launches that featured several authors, screenings of acclaimed shorts, films and documentaries, and concerts, with events having been held in multiple venues throughout its run.

Yesterday’s final programme, according to the festival’s Facebook page, included three talks, namely “Fantasy Keys: A Discussion on Children’s Literature Writing”, “Poetry and Music: A lasting Bond through the Ages”, and “2025, The Year of All Changes”, as well as the Illustrating & Live Storytelling event “Nice to Meet You”, held throughout the afternoon at the Former Barra Slaughterhouse Site. Two book launches were also held at the venue yesterday for Tony Banham’s “The Sinking of the Lisbon Maru” and Paul French’s books “Her Lotus Year” and “Destination Macao”.

Although the festival has ended, one can still visit two of the three exhibitions launched for this year’s festival, namely Wang Zhengping’s “The Wind Blows Through the Grassland” exhibition at the Tap Seac gallery and “Nomadic Time”, which is an exhibition by his disciple Jessie Rao Yongxia, at Albergue SCM.

Wang’s exhibition is on until April 28, while one can view Rao’s exhibition until next Thursday.
