The Public Security Police (PSP) apprehended a local man on Thursday for drunk driving, with his blood alcohol concentration standing at 1.62 grams per litre, PSP spokesman Lei Chan Hong said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Lei identified the suspect as a man surnamed Chong, who is in his fifties and works as a chef.
According to Wong, the Public Security Police (PSP) set up a roadblock early Thursday morning on Avenida do Almirante Lacerda (提督馬路). During the operation, a motorcycle driven by Chong was stopped by the police. The police noted that Chong was reeking of alcohol, and a breathalyser test confirmed his blood alcohol concentration at 1.62 grams per litre, confirming a drunk-driving offence.
Under questioning, Chong admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages in the mainland before driving home from the Qingmao pedestrian border checkpoint.
Chong has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) where he is facing a charge of drunk driving.
