The Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) has received reports from residents about fake text messages claiming to be from the bureau.

According to the CTT statement, these messages claim that there were issues with mail or parcel deliveries and directed recipients to a fake website, where they were prompted to enter personal and credit card information.

In the statement, the bureau clarified that it will never ask for personal or credit card information through text messages, advising members of the public to stay alert and be aware of fraud.

Yesterday afternoon, a staff member of The Macau Post Daily received the following message: “CORREIOS: Your parcel has a problem with the delivery. Please update the delivery on our website: ctt-gov-mo.com”. “CORREIOS” is the Portuguese word for Post Office.

This poster downloaded from the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) website urges members of the public to beware of fraud.
