This year’s International Management Certification Recognition Ceremony for Macau Enterprises was held by the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM) in Macau Science Centre’s conference hall yesterday.
The event marked its second edition since its local inception last year.
In order to commend outstanding local enterprises that have obtained ISO* international standard certification for six consecutive years, 118 enterprises from different industries, mainly focused on food manufacturing and health care product manufacturing, were awarded yesterday.
Macau Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) director and representative of the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Yau Yun Wah, Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, the Pharmaceutical Supervision and Administration Bureau’s Surveillance Department Chief Chon Hang I, the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM) Board of Directors’ Vice-President Victoria Alexa Kuan Chan, award-winning enterprise representatives and guests attended yesterday’s ceremony.
Kuan emphasised that by receiving over 800 Macau-funded applications for ISO certification or accreditation shows that more local enterprises are committed to quality, investing in innovation, and have a vision for the future.
She added that the awarded enterprises cover multiple certification types, including quality management, environmental management, occupational health and safety management, food safety management, information security management, and energy management, demonstrating that Macau’s local companies can keep up with international standards.
Kuan also noted that the key for enterprises to effectively implement ISO management systems is to completely understand the contents of the management system. In order to help enterprises cultivate talents in this area, the CPTTM is the official ISTO International Standard Understanding Level Examination Centre in Macau, providing the industry with ISTO “Understanding Test” services.
Moreover, the CEO of the International Standardised Testing Organisation (ISTO), Ng Ha Wai was invited yesterday to introduce the ISTO International Standards Proficiency Test, so that local enterprises can better grasp the opportunities for industry development.
