The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will once again launch its programme providing free one-way ferry and direct bus tickets to Macau for foreign visitors arriving in Hong Kong, according to an MGTO statement yesterday.

The programme will start tomorrow. The free one-way tickets will be available until the end of the year.

Yesterday’s statement noted that MGTO launched for the first time last year a programme providing free one-way ferry and direct bus tickets to Macau for foreign visitors arriving in Hong Kong, adding that last year’s programme, which ran between February and December, was effective in encouraging foreign visitors arriving in Hong Kong to also visit Macau as over 310,000 foreign tourists visited Macau from Hong Kong with the free tickets during the 11 months last year.

As last year, this year’s programme will cover ferry trips run by TurboJET and Cotai Water Jet.

Unchanged from last year, the free direct bus tickets offered by this year’s programme will be provided to foreign visitors arriving at the Hong Kong airport who then take a direct shuttle transfer from its SkyPier Terminal to Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB), according to yesterday’s statement, which said that the travellers can obtain the free direct bus tickets by presenting their valid travel documents and boarding passes at designated counters in the airport’s restricted area.
