A raft of activities is set to be co-organised by over 20 local museums for
“Macao International Museum Day 2025”.
International Museum Day is annually held on or around May 18. This time, it will be held on Sunday. It is themed “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities” this year.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement on Monday that an opening ceremony for the activities will be held on Sunday at the Mount Fortress Corridor from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Among the activities are the “Museum Corridor” exhibition curated by over 20 local museums and held from Sunday to June 15; guided museum tours; dragon dance performances; workshops; and the “Escape the Museum Cosmos” puzzle solving games hosted by the museums.
Registration is required for the guided tour, which can be done until today via the Macao One Account.
Meanwhile, “Mobile Museums” will be set up in districts such as the northern and central districts and in Cotai this weekend to “further promote cultural and museum activities in the community”. Moreover, each museum will be open with free admission at designated times this month, according to the statement.
The “Museum Development Forum in the Greater Bay Area” is also slated to take place on May 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the University of Macau’s (UM) Wu Yee Sun Library.
