Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has recently organised the “GEG SME X IPIM Enterprises Expansion Series: Business Matching Session for Products and Food from Macau Enterprises” in conjunction with the government’s Macau Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), gathering over 200 representatives from close to 140 local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The event, according to a recent statement by the integrated resort operator, was held at JW Marriott Hotel Macau at Galaxy Macau in Cotai and facilitated in-depth exchanges between participating enterprises and GEG’s procurement team on future cooperative opportunities through “Product Showcases” and “Business Matching Sessions”.
The statement noted that the participating enterprises were primarily suppliers of a range of products and services such as hotel operating supplies, F&B, technology solutions, and facility equipment. These also included “Made in Macau” products, “Macau Brand” enterprises, and “Products agented by Macau Enterprises”, with nearly 15 enterprises providing products from Portuguese-speaking and Spanish-speaking countries, according to the statement.
Moreover, the “Product Showcases” session provided 25 SMEs with the opportunity to present their products and services on-site.
In his speech, IPIM President Vincent U U Sang said: “IPIM continues to collaborate with various enterprises and institutions to build diverse business platforms ranging from traditional exhibitions and matching sessions to more innovative formats such as employee pop-up zones at major enterprises, department store promotions, and university sales, helping SMEs explore and expand into wider markets.”
On the collaboration, GEG Director Philip Cheng Yee Sing said: “We firmly believe that SMEs are crucial to Macau’s economic development, and we look forward to continuing to leverage our resources to create more development opportunities for local SMEs, driving forward Macau’s economic diversification and high-quality growth.”
