The 2025 “Let’s Play Unified” community carnival, organised by the Macau Special Olympics (MSO), funded by Macau Foundation (FM) and supported by the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), was held in Praça do Tap Seac (塔石廣場) yesterday.

The event was held in conjunction with the 35th National Disability Day*, aiming to enhance public awareness of disability services, advocate for social inclusion, and highlight the value of individuals with disabilities.

The event marked the finale of the Special Olympics’ three-month “Play Unified, Play Sports” campaign. It was aligned with the National Disability Day and the upcoming Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area National Special Olympics Games (NSOG), scheduled for November. The event featured game booths and workshops, Special Olympics sport experience zones and “Badminton Together,” where participants with or without disabilities engaged with MSO athletes to experience the spirit of the Special Olympics.

The carnival attracted participants from diverse sectors of society. Through interactive booths, sports activities, and stage performances, the one-day event promoted the ideals of “equality and inclusion,” showcased the talents of individuals with intellectual disabilities, and fostered a harmonious, inclusive community, according to an MSO statement.
