The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said a statement on Friday that a Glico-brand almond milk product from Japan has possibly been contaminated with microorganisms during production, urging the public to stop drinking it.
According to Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency (CAA), the affected product is a 200ml carton of “アーモンド効果 3種のナッツ” (Almond Milk with 3 Nut Flavours), with a best-before date of 2025 .12.1, with the barcode 4971666488234 and all batch codes containing “1” in the LSP1●/+RK series (where “●” represents any single English letter).
The statement underlined that the bureau instructed local retailers to stop selling or using the affected batch products, and dispatched inspectors to check the retail market to prevent circulation of the contaminated products.
IAM urged retailers and consumers in possession of the affected products to immediately discontinue the supply, sale, and consumption of the problematic product. For further information, contact the IAM Food Safety Department on 2833 8181.
