Macau has been named “Best Destination for Annual Meetings” at the first Asia-Pacific Corporate Annual Conference Expo (APCAC), held in Shenzhen last Thursday and Friday, according to a statement by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).
The award was decided by votes from around 100 organisations and major companies across a wide range of sectors such as finance, technology, pharmaceuticals, and tourism, the statement noted.
This marks the second international award for Macau’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions/Conferences, and Exhibitions/Events) sector this year, following its recognition as a “Brilliant Star” MICE Outstanding Destination in early April.
The two-day event, organised by TTG Asia Media, aimed to connect corporate buyers with tourism and industry leaders to explore business opportunities. IPIM used the platform to promote Macau’s “MICE² Macao x Hengqin”* advantages and multi-venue event models, the statement said.
The statement emphasised that Macau’s exhibition industry “continues to earn international praise, with global organisers endorsing its growth potential.” The latest award further boosts Macau’s profile as a leading MICE destination, it added.
* The “MICE² Macao x Hengqin” logo features the collaborative relationship between Macao and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin regarding MICE. In the logo, MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions. The square (²), on the one hand, represents the integration of Macao and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin in the MICE sector, which has created a new norm of MICE business through “multi-venue events”; on the other hand, it represents the expectation for the MICE collaboration between Macao and Hengqin, believing that their collaboration will lead to an exponential increase in boosting not only the MICE projects but also the business investment brought by the MICE events. – Source:
