The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride 2025 (DGR) was held from May 17-18 at Ponte 16 Resort in the Inner Harbour with funds raised to be put towards research in prostate cancer and men’s health.
The event, which drew over 130 classic motorcycles, as well as an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, featured a motorcycle parade, bazaar, live music, and health awareness discussion sessions, according to a Tuesday statement from Ponte 16 Resort, which partnered with local non-profit organisation Kicker Culture for the third consecutive year to organise the event.
Ponte 16 Deputy Chief Executive Officer Hoffman Ma (馬浩文) was quoted by the statement as saying: “This international event allows us to foster stronger community connections while significantly raising awareness of charity and men’s health issues”.
Moreover, the statement quoted Kicker Culture President Wakka Cheang (鄭志豪) as saying: “Integrating musical performances and a bazaar this year infused the event with an added artistic dimension, enabling participants to fully appreciate classic motorcycle culture while fostering a deeper connection with the motorcycle-related and local culture scene”.
The statement said that DGR was founded in Sydney in 2012 and is the “world’s largest charity event for classic-styled motorcycle enthusiasts”. It has expanded its reach to over 100 countries and nearly 1,000 cities worldwide, the statement said, adding that the initiative has raised over US$60 million (480 million patacas), funding over 1,000 medical research projects.
