The Public Security Police (PSP) arrested a local man on Monday for drunk driving, with his blood alcohol concentration standing at 1.68 grams per litre, PSP spokeswoman Kong Chi Ian said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Kong identified the suspect as a man in his twenties surnamed Chou, who told the police he’s jobless.
According to Kong, the Public Security Police (PSP) received a report on Monday morning about an accident on Estrada Flor de Lótus (蓮花路). A bus driver told the police that when he was driving along the road, a car came up behind him, crossed the solid line, and collided with the front right side of the bus. The car then lost control and crashed into the roadside kerb. A breathalyser test revealed that Chou, the car’s driver, had a blood alcohol concentration of 1.63 grams per litre, confirming his drunk-driving offence, while the bus driver passed the test.
Under questioning, Chou admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages at a bar in Zape before driving home.
Chou has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a charge of drunk driving.
