The MGM Artistic Swimming Elite Extravaganza & Macao Open Competition 2025 will be held from June 20 to 22, marking the third consecutive year and featuring performances from three of the nation’s top artistic swimming teams as well as the debut of the men’s solo category in the competition among its highlights.
The event will again be held at the Olympic Sports Centre – Aquatic Centre in Taipa.
The statement noted that the upcoming competition will feature six events: “Figure”, “Solo”, “Duet”, “Team”, “Free Combination”, and “Team Acrobatic”, according to a Thursday statement by the Swimming Association of Macao-China, which again partners with integrated resort operator MGM. It has drawn around 200 athletes from 18 artistic swimming youth teams from Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shandong, Shenzhen, Sichuan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Macau, and the US.
Meanwhile, the performing artistic swimming teams comprise China’s National Artistic Swimming Team, which won gold in both the team and duet events at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the Beijing Artistic Swimming Team, and the Guangdong Derun Artistic Swimming Team, according to the statement.
The statement added that the upcoming event is free for members of the public. The competition sessions do not require a ticket, but are needed for the showcase event, with more information available on MGM’s official website, the statement said.
Moreover, aside from the showcase and contest, the statement said that there will be special training classes that will enable young athletes to learn from the performers.
