The Public Security Police (PSP) apprehended a local man on Saturday for drunk driving, with his blood alcohol concentration standing at 1.99 grams per litre, PSP spokesman Lam Keong said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Lam identified the suspect as a 24-year-old male surnamed Lam who told the police that he is jobless.
According to Lam, the Public Security Police (PSP) received a report early Saturday morning about a traffic accident near Estrada do Canal dos Patos (鴨涌馬路). Upon arrival, the police found Lam lying on the road next to his motorcycle, reeking of alcohol. Lam had a fractured left hand and was immediately taken to hospital for treatment. A breathalyser test confirmed his blood alcohol concentration at 1.99 grams per litre, indicating a drunk-driving offence.
Under questioning, Lam admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages in the mainland before driving in Macau.
Lam has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a charge for drunk driving.
