The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has reopened the children’s playground in Flower City Park following optimisation works that upgraded facilities and improved accessibility for children aged 2 to 12, according to an IAM statement yesterday.

According to the statement, the project involved reorganising playground facilities and installing new climbing and balance equipment, slides and swings to provide diversified play options for children.

The statement added that seamless safety mats have been laid throughout the 490-square-metre playground, while new washbasins for children and barrier-free access were added to connect the playground with the park’s activity room, creating a more inclusive leisure environment.

The bureau noted that the playground’s previous facilities and mats had shown signs of ageing after years of use, prompting the upgrade to enhance safety and comfort for visitors, apart from other works including the optimisation of public toilets in the park, which have reopened alongside the playground.

The statement concluded that the reopening offers children and the public a safer, more comfortable space for leisure and play, reflecting the bureau’s commitment to improving community facilities.

Taipa’s Flower City Park is open from 6 a.m. to 12 midnight.
