The Macao Museum of Art (MAM), which is run by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), will hold its “Art Without Boundaries – Children’s Workshop Series” from October to December, offering seven workshops for kids and teenagers aged four to 16, according to an IC statement yesterday.
Registration, which started yesterday, run to September 21 through the “Activity Applications” of the Macao One Account app, the bureau said.
As a major programme of “Friends of MAM” that is held twice yearly, the “Art Without Boundaries” workshops invite participants to explore both contemporary and ancient art, the statement said, adding that the programme will begin with creations from Art Macao 2025 and also include the history of porcelain routes, aiming to reflect exchanges between the Chinese and Portuguese cultures.
The bureau said that the series consists of:
“Art for Kids and Grown-Ups – Art Creation Workshop for Families” (ages four–six), aiming to encourage children and parents to create together;
“Let’s Play with Art – Artistic Creation Workshop for Children” (ages five–10; five classes in which the Cantonese or English language can be chosen), featuring multimedia approaches to contemporary and ancient arts;
“Blue and White Rhapsody – Porcelain Painting Workshop for Teenagers” (ages 11–16), exploring blue-and-white porcelain and creating tiles with modern aesthetics.
Each workshop will last 12 hours, and enrolment costs 240 patacas, taking place in MAM’s Zero Square or at the Art Square of the ground floor of the Handover Gifts Museum of Macao in Nape.
