Galaxy Macau and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) have entered into a four-year strategic partnership to host three UFC Fight Night events at Galaxy Arena between 2026 and 2029, according to a statement provided by the integrated resort yesterday.

The agreement is set to bring the premier mixed martial arts (MMA) events to the region. The statement said the collaboration aimed to cement Macau’s position on the global sports and entertainment stage and add a new dimension to the city’s event calendar.

As part of the arrangement, Galaxy Macau will also host the opening round of the 2026 season of “Road to UFC”, a talent-development tournament for elite emerging fighters from the Asia-Pacific region, added the statement. The statement noted that winners of the tournament will advance to earn contracts with the UFC.

Each UFC Fight Night event in Macau will be accompanied by a week-long programme of activities, including fan meet-and-greets and appearances by star fighters, the statement added.

Chief Operating Officer – Macau of Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) Kevin Kelley, was quoted in the statement as saying: “The partnership reflects the company’s support for the Macau government’s vision to integrate tourism and sports.”

UFC President and CEO Dana White was also quoted as saying: “This new partnership with Galaxy Macau couldn’t come at a better time. It’s great for fight fans in [the whole of] China and massive for the sport.”

The statement highlighted the success of the 2024 UFC Fight Night event held at Galaxy Macau, which was sold out and drew an audience of 12,000. This new strategic partnership, the statement said, contributes to the city’s continued economic diversification by elevating its profile as a destination for world-class sports entertainment.
