The Macau Industrial and Commercial Youth Association hosted an opening ceremony yesterday about its 8-day Labour Day “Play Fun Macau” event in Praça dos Lótus in Ilha Verde district (青洲坊蓮花廣場).
The event is sponsored by Bank of China (BOC) Macau.
Wong Sio Pang, vice president of the association, said in a speech that the event aims to revitalise the community economy through an “innovative model” designed to guide consumer traffic towards the northern district’s small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Wong expressed hope that the event can showcase the creativity and sense of responsibility of the younger generation, build a platform to integrate into the broader national development, and work with all sectors to co-create the future.
According to a statement released during the ceremony, residents who make a single purchase of 50 patacas or more using the BOC app between yesterday and next Thursday will receive an electronic admission ticket to the event.
The event, themed “Community Consumption and Family Entertainment”, is open daily from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., featuring attractions such as bumper cars, an inflatable castle, booth games, parent-child workshops and for the nostalgic – pinball machines, creating a new “community living area” where neighbours can gather and families can have fun together, the statement said.
